I'm not crazy about colorized movies but this one is kookie and fun. The characters are so serious ! There are many actors everyone has seen before in small roles but in this one they get bumped up to more important roles. Also, a brief appearance by Strother Martin as an airline pilot !!:
Richard Carlson is the hero, Dr. Jeffrey Stewart. King Donovan (aka Mr. Imogene Coca) was the assistant, Dr. Dan Forbes. The producer was Ivan Tors who later became known for many 1960s shows on TV like Flipper, Daktari and Gentle Ben (I watched them all).
Richard Carlson also played the writer in three of Frank Capra's science films with Dr. Frank Baxter:

I never saw The Magnetic Monster before, there are apparently two more sequel movies: Riders to the Stars and Gog. They all share the fictional organization The OSI (Office of Scientific Investigation) as their base: scientists who drop whatever they are doing to immediately investigate anything strange - it's sorta like a 1950s version of The X-files or maybe even Odd Squad :)
The movie re-uses some footage from Gold, a 1934 German movie, so they tried to costume the 1953 actors to look similar:

It looks really sciency ! :) Unfortunately Archive.org started to run out of gas right at the climax of the movie ! I turned off my VPN but no help. So I ended up downloading it.
