Wonderboy

Torpedo bat ? Really ? :) But the weird thing that caught my attention was the fact that bats are made from maple and birch ! For some reason I assumed they were all made with ash.
Birch ? I got plenty of birch on the ground after the ice storm:
Beech is apparently also used for bats - I've got literally tons of beech and it happens to all be dying of some kind of disease - the external sign of infection looks a little like snow has stuck to the gray bark of the beeches:
The maples were pretty much unaffected by the ice storm, so too was the widowmaker:
just two spindly little trees holding up that rotten old poplar log |
This all (of course) reminded me of Wonderboy from The Natural:

Seems to me that instead of torpedo bats they should make Wonderboy bats !
