Don't find computers that helpful anymore

At least when they start doing this:

The computer battery discharged way down and then zoomed up to 100%.  It is supposed to peak at 60 percent and start charging at 55 percent:

I've spent a fair bit of time trying to get it back to the way it should be.  Why computer, why ?  Why waste my time ?  Aren't you supposed to save time ?  Can't you just leave things alone ?
