I like these videos where he browses an old issue of Popular Mechanics, makes a few comments and then finds something that sparks his imagination and then re-creates it back into existence.
This propeller bike video was really fun but the ending might have answered some of his questions at the start:

I like to look through old magazines but RARELY does it spark action other than possibly a blog post :)
