Morsemaster switches, part II
Blogged on the Morsemaster switches before:

Here are some scope pictures of the Radio Shack switch bounce:
Start switch:
Repeat switch:
Reset switch:
The bouncing isn't horrible but it isn't consistent either. The main thing is the "feel" of the switches, they are hard to press and just not positive.
So I replaced the three switches with C&K 8121 switches, made in USA circa 1984:
These are available on the Switch and Part page (scroll down near the bottom of the page):

Here are some scope pictures of the C&K switch bounce:
Start switch:
Repeat switch:
Reset switch:
There is plenty of bounce but it is consistent and stops within 1/2 millisecond. Note that the reset trace doesn't show bounce with either the Radio Shack or C&K switches due to the Morsemaster RC circuitry. Again the main thing is that the feel of these switches is MUCH better, a positive short press with a tactile click, just what I want in a switch.
Now to start using the Morsemaster II again ! N4MW has kindly posted the manual for the Stone Mountain Engineering kit here:

Here is the N4MW page with a picture of the Morsemaster II kit:

BTW, I was going to try and run the Morsemaster II from a 9V battery but it needs 100 mA ! of current to function. So I will have to scare up an eight or ten cell AA Nimh battery pack with a 9V snap if I want to use the Morsemaster without a wall-wart.
Best Regards,
