My Room by Maynard G. Krebs
I mentioned Zelda and Dobie in a previous post:

But the character I remember most from the Dobie Gillis TV show was Maynard G. Krebs acted by Bob Denver
One of his most memorable bits is from season 2, episode 8: Around my Room in 80 Days at about 15 minutes in:
https://tubitv.com/tv-shows/257177
If you don't want to fool with Tubi TV this is the text:
(my theme is kinda short Mr. Pomfritt, sir, on account I live in a small room)
I open the door to my room - what do I see ? The sweatshirt I left on the floor last night.
What is the next thing I see ? It is the sneakers I left beside the sweatshirt.
And what is the next thing I see ? It is the socks I left beside the sneakers.
What is the next thing I see ? It is my records. Singles, albums, 33s, 45s, 78s, hi-fi, lo-fi, stereo, hundreds and thousands of records, piles and stacks and heaps of records
And what is the next thing I see ? It is my mother standing in the door saying: "Maynard, clean up your room or your father will put you in manual training school"
Lest anyone denigrate Dobie Gillis it was a really good show, quite literate, I would never have heard the word: propinquity unless I had seen Zelda Gilroy explain why she was destined to be Dobie's girl, because Gilroy comes right after Gillis alphabetically so she and Dobie had to interract: propinquity which Bing defines as:
the state of being close to someone or something; proximity:
"he kept his distance as though afraid propinquity might lead him into temptation"
No, not in the case of Zelda ! :)
