Took a stroll

It was such a nice afternoon for early March, temp in the 40s and sunny - so I got out the camera and went for a walk.

Checked the maple sap:

the sap is flowing

Noticed this poor little evergreen on the right:

Even Charlie Brown wouldn't select it as his Christmas tree now !   I'm wondering if it was some buck deer rubbing his antlers ?

On the way back came upon the remains of a deer - I can see why fossil skeletons are rarely complete !
