ARRL pays a million dollars to organized crime !
https://www.arrl.org/news/arrl-it-security-incident-report-to-members
I was surprised to hear that a ransom was paid IF: "ransom demands
were dramatically weakened by the fact that they did not have access
to any compromising data" What does that mean ?
I suppose paying a ransom was just a cost benefit calculation and that
we will never know exactly how it happened or who the criminals are.
And I guess there is no chance that the money will ever be recovered.
Keeping everything hush-hush was probably a good idea as far as
getting through the incident but a bad idea for public relations.
