I was 9 years old in the fall of 1964, a 4th grader when:  The Man From U.N.C.L.E. started on television - I thought it was so cool !  :)

And I actually remember this episode:  The Mad Mad Tea Party Affair:

The reason was this:

it's what you call a suicide mission

 

It was a suicide drone before they called them that.
